How is the CTET examination conducted?

Well, the rules and regulations which are followed under CTET are guided by CBSE and CBSE organizes the CTET examination as a computer-based examination. The exams are conducted twice a year. This examination is conducted with two levels – with two 2 papers. Those aspirants who’re willing to be government or private teachers for classes from 1st to 5th only have to pass the 1st paper but the aspirants who are willing to teach the classes from 1st to class 8th should have to clear Paper 2 conducted by the CBSE.  Exams are conducted in online mode i.e. CBT(Computer Based Test) mode.

Eligibility under CTET examination?

For Paper 1 (Classes I to V)

Candidates should have the passing certificate of their Senior Secondary (10+2) education from any recognized board in India with a 45% minimum with a 2-year diploma in elementary education or 4 years of Bachelor or elementary education. and also have their graduation certificate. Candidates with Graduation with 50% marks with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) are also eligible for Paper-1.

For Paper 2 (Classes VI to VIII)

Those students are eligible who have passed Graduation with 50% marks with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) OR Senior Secondary with 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor of Elementary

If the candidate has the above eligibility, then the candidate is capable of filling out the form and appearing in the coming examination.

CTET Paper 1: Exam Pattern

Child Development and Pedagogy

The first section is about Child Development and Pedagogy and this section attains a total number of 30 questions. Out of the 30 questions, 15 are from the Primary school child development section, 10 are from Learning and Pedagogy and the rest 5 questions are from inclusive education & children with special needs.

Language – Part 1

In Language Part 1 section, the candidate will have to face 30 questions out of which 15 questions come under language comprehension and the rest of the 15 questions belong to the Pedagogy section of language development.

Language – Part 2

Under this section, candidates will have to attempt the next 30 questions out of which 15 questions belong to Comprehension and the rest of the 15 questions to Pedagogy of Language development.

Mathematics

In the mathematics section, 30 questions are available out of which 15 questions are from the content (syllabus) and the rest of the 15 questions are from Pedagogical issues.

Environmental Studies

In Environmental studies, there are also 30 questions and out of the 30 questions, 15 questions are from content (Syllabus and the rest of the 15 questions are from Pedagogical issues.

For completing the CTET paper 1 the candidates will get 2 ½ hours and the exam is conducted under morning and evening shifts. The morning shift starts at 9:30 AM and ends at 12:00 PM for CTET Paper 1 whereas the other shift which is for CTET Paper 2, starts at 2:30 PM and ends at 5:00 PM. CTET Paper 2:- Exam Pattern

There are 4 Sections in CTET 2022 syllabus – Child Development & Pedagogy, Language Paper-I & Paper-2 and two optional subjects – Mathematics and Science, and Social Studies.

A. Mathematics & Science section

Under this section, candidates should have to face 30 questions about Mathematics and general science. Out of the 30 questions, 20 questions come from the syllabus and the rest 10 questions come from pedagogical issues.

What is the examination level of CTET Paper 1?

Paper 1 of the CTET examination is not very difficult to crack. The examination level of this paper is easy to moderate. Under this examination, the candidates will have to attempt 150 questions within the given time of 120 minutes.

When will we fill out the form for the CTET Exam?

CBSE has released the news of releasing the CTET Exam for December 2022 and as per the news, the application for CTET 2022 started on 31.10.2022. The last date is 24.11.2022. The fee for Paper-1 or Paper 2 is Rs.1000/- for General and OBC. For both papers, it is Rs.1200 only.

What is the cutoff for the CTET examination?

Students who belong to Unreserved and EWS categories get selection with the Cutoff of 90 marks and for OBC/SC/ST the cutoff is 82.5 marks.
